How to test any infrared remote control anywhere!

Reasons: You may be having partial contact from the battery terminal of your remote control.

To test if any infrared remote control is working at home, all you need are the following;

1. A mobile phone having a camera in working condition.
2. The infrared remote control to be tested.

Procedure

1. Fix the batteries in the remote control properly
2. Turn on the camera on your mobile phone
3. Point the remote control towards you, that is, the side you usually point to a TV or DVD player should be pointed to the camera of your mobile phone.
4. From the camera of your mobile phone view the remote control
5. Now press any button on the remote control repeatedly and view it from your mobile phone, that is, from the camera view.
6. If the batteries are placed correctly or if you have good contact, you should see a bright light shown from the emitter of the remote control.
7. If you don't see any light viewing from within your phone, repeat step 1 and go through step 2 to step 6 again.
8. Congratulation, you have just tested your remote control!
